ALFRED – A former Maine man who was extradited from Massachusetts to face a murder charge made his first court appearance Wednesday.
Son Nguyen, 38, was returned to the York County Jail after his brief appearance in Superior Court. He was being held without bail.
Nguyen is accused, along with two other men from the Portland area, in the shooting death of Dung Ngo, 32, from the Dorchester section of Boston. Ngo’s body was found on Oct. 15 in the woods alongside the Maine Turnpike in York.
Nguyen’s wife says he was the victim of drug dealers. He had been shot once in the head.
Maine State Police Sgt. Matt Stewart said Wednesday that detectives are confident they’ve apprehended everyone involved in Ngo’s death.
“At this point, we’re comfortable. We feel we have the individuals that are responsible for the death of Mr. Dung Ngo in custody here in the state of Maine,” he said.
