PVHS earns upset of Pats

HOWLAND – Matt Cummings scored five of his game-high 19 points in the fourth quarter and Nik Hockridge scored all four of his points in the final eight minutes as Penobscot Valley upset Penquis of Milo 59-53 in high school boys basketball action Thursday, avenging a season-opening loss to the Patriots.

Chad Trapier had 15 points and Jake Crosby scored nine for the winners.

Kole Stevens’ 13 points, Russell Berry’s 10, and Nate Allen’s nine points paced Penquis.
