Jimmy is an 11-year-old boy who is a friendly and cooperative child with a good sense of humor.
Jimmy has a good imagination and uses it to do creative tasks, such as arts and crafts, building models, and creating with Legos. He enjoys the outdoors and likes to camp, swim and play outside. Jimmy takes pleasure in a variety of activities, including singing, bowling, going to the movies, and roller-skating.
Jimmy is very athletic and enjoys participating in many sports. He has been involved in summer recreation programs and has enjoyed them. Jimmy loves spending time at the ocean.
Jimmy is at grade level in school and takes pride in doing well in his classes. He receives written language support as he has reading difficulties, mainly with comprehension and spelling.
Jimmy has a wonderful ability to express his feelings and is able to work through challenges by conversing.
He is working hard on developing his ability to trust and allow himself to enjoy being a “kid.”
Jimmy wants to be adopted, and he is looking forward to being part of a loving, supportive family.
Jimmy will require a family that can support him in working through his grief and loss issues. He will require a family that can help him gain trust in adults and that will make good decisions for him. He does well with consistency and nurturing.
An adoption subsidy is available for the most appropriate family.
Jimmy is one of the 175 children currently in the Maine Department of Health and Human Services care who are seeking an adoptive family.
Based in Gardiner, A Family for ME is a nonprofit program that works in collaboration with Maine DHHS to find foster and adoptive families for Maine children in care.
