ORONO – Cheryl White scored four goals in two games as the University of Maine women’s ice hockey team swept Vermont, beating the Catamounts 7-0 Saturday and 3-0 Sunday.

On Saturday, White scored two goals to power the Black Bears.

Julie Poulin, Patricia Gagnon, Kim Meagher, Kelly Law and Amy Quirion each chipped in with a goal. Genevieve Turgeon made eight saves on eight shots for Maine.

Jenilee Roy and Katie Nichols combined for 21 saves on 28 shots for Vermont.

On Sunday, White netted two more goals. Sonia Corriveau added a goal for the winners. Turgeon stopped all 17 shots for the 15-6-6 Black Bears.

Katie Nichols made 29 saves on 32 shots for 3-25-2 Vermont.
