Two Maine boxers have won Vermont Golden Gloves and will compete at the New England Boxing Championships.
Travis Wyman of Stockton defeated Dustin Robtoy of the Bordertown Boxing Club by unanimous decision in the 119-pound division, and Calvin Elwell of Brooks defeated Austin Cote of Hardwick Boxing Club in a second-round knock-out in the 141-pound division.
Wyman, 16, and Elwell, 20, both of Wyman’s Boxing Club in Stockton Springs, competed for three weeks in Burlington, Vt., and advanced to the New England Championships this week at Lowell Auditorium in Lowell, Mass. Semifinals will be held Tuesday and finals will take place on Friday.
