COLLEGE

Sarah Beasley

University of Maine at Presque Isle senior forward Sarah Beasley of Houlton was selected as the Association of Division III Independents women’s basketball Player of the Week. Beasley had two double-doubles and averaged 16 points, 14.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game.

Abby Schrader

University of Maine center Abby Schrader was honored as the women’s basketball America East Co-Player of the Week. Schrader scored 19 points and had 15 rebounds to help the Black Bears to a victory over Albany.

Meg Coffin

Junior center Meg Coffin of Bates College was named the NESCAC women’s basketball Player of the Week. Coffin posted two double-doubles in wins over Amherst and Trinity.

Edmundas Akstinas

The UM-Fort Kent freshman forward earned Sunrise Conference Co-Player of the Week honors. HE averaged 22 points and 10.5 rebounds as the Bengals went 1-1 last week.

Nicole Corbin

The UM-Fort Kent junior guard earned Sunrise Conference Player of the Week honors. She averaged 20 ppg in two wins for the Bengals.

Arcilla Jeffers

UM-Fort Kent freshman Arcilla Jeffers earned Sunrise Conference Rookie of the Week honors. She averaged 11 ppg in two Bengals’ wins.

Drew Cohen

A junior center at Colby College, Drew Cohen was named MMBCA Player of the Week. He averaged 21.5 points, 12 rebounds and 5 blocks as Colby went 2-0 last week.

Aecio Madeira

The Thomas College freshman forward earned MMBCA Rookie of the Week honors. He averaged 15.5 points and 7.5 rebounds in two games for the Terriers last week.

Alyssa Burns

The Maine Maritime forward earned NAC Player of the Week honors. She led the Mariners to three wins last week, averaging 24 points and 6 rebounds per game.
