Recalls target appliances, flour tortillas

These products recently have been recalled for safety reasons, according to government and consumer safety organizations:

. Vac Attack II Blowers manufactured by Homelite Consumer Products and sold nationwide at Home Depot from September 2005 to November 2005. The blowers are missing doors covering the vacuum inlet. This exposes the blower’s fan blade, posing a laceration hazard. The red blowers have black nozzles and weigh about 10 pounds. The recalled models are numbered either UT08542 or UT08542A. “Homelite” and “Vac Attack II” are written on the fan cover. Consumers should return the blowers to Home Depot for a new blower or refund. Consumers can contact Homelite at (800) 242-4672 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday or visit www.homelite.com.

. Flour tortillas made by Del Rey Tortilleria Inc. Consumers who ate the flour tortillas complained of stomach pains, vomiting, diarrhea, nausea and headaches. The product was distributed nationwide through food distributors and grocery stores. The affected products are all sizes and types of flour tortillas with the brand name Del Ray and use-by date codes of March 6, 2006, or earlier. They may be labeled as White Flour Tortillas; Tortillas de Harina; Burritos 2, 3 and 4; or Fajita eight-inch size. Consumers should immediately return any product subject to the recall to the store where they purchased it for a full refund or replacement. Consumers with questions may contact the company by calling General Manager Marcy Toledo at (773) 637-8900.
