Maine Coast Memorial Hospital in Ellsworth has dedicated its nondenominational chapel. Some 100 people joined with chapel benefactors Delmont and Betty Merrill recently to dedicate the new Merrill Chapel. It is on the top floor of a new tower that faces west over the Union River and on to Blue Hill Mountain. The only other window in the chapel is a stained glass landscape with a dove in flight. The chapel is warmed by maple panels that run 80 percent up the walls, set off with a muted green wall.
