FARMINGTON – Kari Simpson tossed in 14 points, made three steals and blocked three shots Friday night to lead the University of Maine-Farmington to a 72-44 women’s basketball victory over Mount Ida, the Beavers’ 20th win of the season.

Erin Johnson came off the bench to contribute 10 points, and Samantha Wiley of Lincolnville dished out six assists and had three steals for the Beavers.

Melissa Simbliaris led the Mustangs of Newton Center, Mass., with 14 points, and Kristin Santos added 13. Adrienne Xenos chipped in with 11.

At Newman Gym in Bangor, Carmen Ballard poured in 20 points to go along with seven rebounds, three assists and two steals as Husson rolled over Lesley College of Cambridge, Mass.

Jodie Merchant tallied 16 points, eight boards, four assists and three steals, and Michelle Barden added eight points, six assists and four steals for the Eagles.

Anya Vines led Lesley with nine points.

At Waterville, Kim Drosdik scored 26 points on 6-for-15 shooting from behind the arc as the Terriers earned the win.

Amanda Godley chipped in with 19 points, including 7 of 12 from the field, and nine rebounds. Toby Martin added 13 points. Drosdik set a school record for most 3-pointers in a season with 87. The old record was 85.

Theresa Allen paced Lasell College of Auburndale, Mass., with a game-high 33 points.

At Newman Gym in Bangor, Buddy Leavitt dropped a game-high 22 points, including six 3-pointers to lead Husson past Lesley.

Jason Harvey tallied 15 points, five assists, five rebounds and two steals, and Phil White added 12 points, nine boards and four steals for the Eagles.

Michael Lush led Lesley with 21 points and nine rebounds. Zach Rocha chipped in with 14 points.

At Farmington, Matt St. John poured in 27 points and Travis Magnusson recorded a triple double to lead the University of Maine-Farmington to its 11th victory.

Magnusson scored 13 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and notched 11 assists. Travis Carrier chipped in with 16 points for the winners and Sean Fry had 12.

Scott Chamberlain and Doug Williams each scored 20 points for Mount Ida of Newton, Mass.
