Saint Joseph’s wins twice
At Standish, Saint Joseph’s College earned two weekend victories, beating the University of Maine-Fort Kent 75-69 on Saturday before downing UM-Presque Isle 71-34 on Sunday.
On Saturday, Elbie Murphy scored 19 of his 21 points in the second half as the Monks held off the Bengals.
Matt Plummer scored 14 points and Marcus Alexander 13 for Saint Joseph’s.
Rytis Kriunas popped in a game-high 25 points to pace UMaine-Fort Kent. Billy Russo (10 rebounds) and Darius Parker tallied 14 points each, while Hamill Bassue grabbed 12 raebounds.
On Sunday, Plummer scored 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the Monks to victory.
Brett Miles paced UMaine-Presque Isle with 11 points and Jonathan Cooley grabb3ed 10 rebounds.

UMaine splits with Boston U.
At Boston, Patricia Gagnon scored off an assist from Sonia Corriveau with six seconds remaining Sunday, lifting the Black Bears to a 2-1 victory and a split of their Hockey East weekend series.
Boston University won Saturday’s game 2-1.
On Sunday, Kelly Law scored the first goal for the Black Bears (16-7-6, 8-7-4 HE) on a Karine Senecal assist. Rachel Gettings made 18 saves.
Nicki Wiart scored a power-play goal for BU (12-16-4, 6-12-2 HE) in the second period. Allyse Wilcox made 26 saves.
In Saturday’s game, Stephanie Armstrong tallied early in the third period to give the Terriers the winning goal.
Cara Hendry had tied the game in the second period for BU. Wilcox piled up 38 saves.
