AUGUSTA – Gov. John Baldacci nominated four people to the Board of Environmental Protection on Friday.
Two of the nominees – Ernest Hilton and Nancy Ziegler – would be reappointments to the 10-member board, which helps interpret, administer and enforce the state’s environmental laws.
Hilton, of Starks, is a lawyer and professional engineer who works with environmental permitting and compliance. Ziegler, of South Portland, is also a lawyer who has handled land use, regulatory and environmental matters.
The two new nominees are:
Richard Gould of Greenville, who works as the town’s code enforcement officer and serves on the planning board. Gould also served in the Legislature for a decade, including a term as House chairman of the Energy and Natural Resources Committee.
M. Wing Goodale of Falmouth, who is a research biologist with the BioDiversity Research Institute in Gorham. Goodale has also coordinated an international research group on mercury.
