BREWER – Ben Caldwell and Zach Wilson each scored three goals to lead the top-seeded Brewer Witches to a 10-1 Eastern Maine Class B hockey quarterfinal win over eighth-ranked John Bapst Monday night.
Ryan Nadeau, Dylan Fitzpatrick, Marc Relford and Reid McLaughlin each added a goal for the winners. Devin Fitzpatrick recorded three assists while Aaron Saunders stopped all 15 shots for the 17-4 Witches.
Matt Smith scored for John Bapst of Bangor off assists from Travis Poulin and Brian Leighton. Nate Kuneman made 37 saves on 47 shots for the 8-11 Crusaders.
Houlton-Hodgdon 3, Hampden 1
At Houlton, Grady Anderson and Morgan Hall each posted a goal and an assist to lead No. 2 Houlton Hodgdon past seventh-ranked Hampden.
Ian Pasquarelli added a goal while Alex Mooers, Billy Policano, Jordan Gard and Josh McGuire each recorded an assist. Nic Joslyn made 22 saves on 23 shots for the 16-4 Black Hawks.
Adam Nason scored for Hampden off an assist from Steve Boutin and Josh Tardif. Matt Albert had 29 saves on 32 shots for the 9-12 Broncos.
