Churches collaborate on ecumenical Lenten program

BREWER – The Brewer Ministerial Association will host its annual ecumenical Lenten program at 7 p.m. Thursdays during Lent at several churches in the area.

The theme for this year is “The Body of Christ,” with lessons examining the spiritual aspects of Christ’s heart, eyes, ears, mouth and hands.

The Good Friday service will involve each of the pastors speaking on the 14 Stations of the Cross.

The schedule is:

. March 9, “The Heart of Christ,” St. Teresa Catholic Church, 440 South Main St.

. March 16, “The Eyes of Christ,” Second Congregational Church, 607 South Main St.

. March 23, “The Ears of Christ,” First Congregational Church, 35 Church St.

. March 30, “The Mouth of Christ,” First United Methodist Church, 40 South Main St.

. April 6, “The Hands of Christ,” North Brewer-Eddington United Methodist Church, 31 Main Road, Eddington.

Some of the churches will hold their own services on Maundy Thursday, Holy Thursday, April 13.

The association will hold Stations of the Cross for Good Friday noon-1:30 p.m. Friday, April 14, at St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church, 21 Holyoke St.
