Artful Wares project
OLD TOWN – Artful Wares in Old Town will use Maine Technology Institute funds for market research and process definition to develop a manufactured line of tableware consistent with the company’s original design concept.
Artful Wares produces handcrafted handles for tableware using recycled natural material including lobster shells, mussel shells, clam shells and various types of granite. They are part of the Composite Technology sector.
The institute board of directors approved five development awards to technology companies across Maine. Development awards range up to $500,000 for “near to market” technology commercialization projects less than three years from sales. The awards are offered on a competitive basis.
Development awards are distributed three times each year. Information is available at www.mainetechnology.org.
