BANGOR – The Bangor Noon Kiwanis Club invites the public to a Super Ball dinner that includes a chance to win $2,000. The event begins at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 30, at the Elks Lodge, 108 Odlin Road, and will benefit the Police Athletic League Center.

Dinner is served at 7 p.m. A cash bar will be operated by Elks Club members. The $2,000 grand prize will be awarded at 9 p.m.

The PAL Center lost its funding source recently and was scheduled to close until the Bangor Noon Kiwanis stepped in to lend a hand.

The dinner, which includes a selection of sole-wrapped lobster tail or filet mignon, and a chance to win $2,000, costs $160 per couple. Prizes donated by local businesses will be given away throughout the evening.

Local celebrity broadcaster Ric Tyler will be the master of ceremonies for the evening.

Penobscot Job Corps Academy students will cook and serve the food.

“Please join us for a fun-filled evening and help us support area children by supporting the PAL Center,” said Peter Golding, Bangor Noon Kiwanis member and PAL Center fundraising chairman. “The PAL Center and Bangor Noon Kiwanis Club are 501(c)3 organizations, so the ticket price is tax deductible.”

Parties of eight may reserve a table. RSVP by March 24.

To order tickets and to find out more about the Super Ball dinner, leave a message at 941-9101 or call Peter Golding at 843-6263.
