Bangor police handled several reports of theft Monday and received a complaint about a stolen license plate taken during the weekend.
A store employee of the Shaw’s supermarket on Main Street reported Monday afternoon that Ricky Waugh, 51, of Bangor selected a bottle of Wild Irish Rose wine, worth about $4.13 including tax, and walked out of the store with it. Waugh was summoned on a theft charge.
That same afternoon, an employee of the Smoke Shop on Union Street reported that a woman in her 20s left the store with two boxes of cigarettes, valued together at nearly $83.
During the weekend officials with Vanguard-Alamo reported that a Pennsylvania license plate was stolen from a car at Bangor International Airport.
An employee of Bangor Tire Co. on Market Street in Bangor reported that during the weekend, three windows and the glass on a front door were broken. Marbles were found inside and were believed to have been used to break the glass. Damage was estimated at $50 for each of the three windows and $200 for the front door. A few weeks ago, the glass on another door was broken, although it wasn’t clear whether the two incidents were related.
