CALAIS – Friends of the Calais Free Library is offering a soup and poetry evening from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 30, in the reading room of the library.

Poets will be reading their favorite poems along with original works. All are encouraged to bring their own poems, but it is not required.

Before the poetry starts, an assortment of soups will be available to be sampled, and bread will accompany it. Drinks and cake will also be provided.

At the conclusion, attendees are welcome to join the library friends group for 2006. The group helps run and organize the secondhand bookstore near the Unobskey School on Main Street.
