BANGOR – Jazz music and show tunes are a great way to swing into spring. The Bangor High School Jazz Band, Bangor High School Jazz Choir, Hermon High School Jazz Combo and Hampden Academy Voices Unlimited will perform a benefit concert at 7 p.m. Friday, March 24, at Peakes Auditorium, Bangor High School.

The concert is general seating and tickets may be purchased for $10 at Knapp’s Music on Main Street, from Bangor Breakfast Rotary Club members and the Bangor, Hampden and Hermon music booster club members, or at the door.

Reserved tickets may be purchased through the Penobscot Theatre Company box office by calling 942-3333. All proceeds from ticket sales benefit the United Cerebral Palsy’s summer camp program.

The high school musicians are eager to entertain and to do their part in ensuring that the UCP summer camp is a success. The fundraising event also provides an opportunity for students to raise money for their own specific projects through corporate sponsorships.

Sponsors include Bangor Savings Bank, Eaton Peabody, Hollywood Slots, Lane Construction, Machias Savings Bank, Merrill Merchants Bank and Nurse Anesthetists of Maine.
