ROCKPORT – Skowhegan Area High School won the Class A title at the Maine State Drama Festival on Friday and Saturday with their one-act play “My Client Curly.”
Morse High School was the Class A runner-up with their performance of “Hello” at the two-day festival held at the Camden Hills Regional High School.
Yarmouth High School took home the Class B title with “Four Shorts by Ives” and the runner-up was Maine Central Institute with “The Anatomy of Gray.”
The two winning schools will advance to the New England Drama Festival April 20-22, in Guilford, N.H.

The Judges Commendations were awarded to: Brewer High School, costume design Melanie Moore and creative properties; Morse High School, playwrighting Henry Mann, movement coordinator Katie Rouillard, corps ensemble and transitional effects; Massabesic, creative entrance; Skowhegan, stage manager award Rosemary Brown and Emma Brown, sound designer Sara Roy, ensemble award, choreographical elements, scenic design and properties and foreign language monologues; Lawrence, scenic painting Laura Gibbons; Falmouth, scenic art and design, Kendall Hinkley; Windham, ensemble award and video award; Mount Desert Island, stage combat and stunts.
