BOSTON – David Burns of Scarborough captured a gold medal in his first National Masters Men’s 3,000 meter Racewalk at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston Sunday.
Burns finished second behind New Hampshire’s Robert Keating, a past American record holder. Burns’ time of 15 minutes, 59.75 seconds is a personal record in the masters race. Although Burns finished second in the race, he was first in his age group. Masters races start at age 30 and all competitors race together, but score in five-year age increments.
