Bre Loon
Freshman pitcher Bre Loon of the University of Southern Maine softball team was named the Little East Conference Rookie of the Week. In 14 2/3 innings of work, Loon has a 1.84 ERA and 18 strikeouts while giving up 12 hits, three runs and eight walks.
Ashley MacDonald
University of New England lacrosse player Ashley MacDonald has been chosen as Commonwealth Coast Conference Player of the Week. MacDonald helped lead the Nor’easters to a 2-1 week by scoring 11 goals and handing out 10 assists.
Andy Nelson
Bowdoin College men’s lacrosse player Andy Nelson was selected as the New England Small College Athletic Conference Player of the Week. Nelson posted a pair of hat tricks as Bowdoin went 2-0.
Kari Simpson
Kari Simpson of the University of Maine-Farmington women’s basketball team has earned All-ECAC honors. Simpson averaged 18.3 points and 8.4 rebounds per game this season for the 24-5 Beavers. She also earned NAC tournament MVP honors, averaging 27.3 points per game.
Adam Dann
Bowdoin College senior hockey player Adam Dann was named winner of the sixth annual Joe Concannon Award by the Gridiron Club of Greater Boston. Dann finished his career at Bowdoin this season with 14 goals and 15 assists for 29 points in 24 games. During his career, Dann posted 58 goals and 52 assists.
Sean Brawn
Husson College’s Sean Brawn was honored as NAC Baseball Player of the Week. The Eagles split with Johnson and Wales in a doubleheader on Sunday. Brawn went 5-for-8 (.625) with a double, a homerun, four RBIs and four runs scored.
Wade Oliver
St. Joseph’s Wade Oliver was named NAC Baseball Rookie of the Week. In a three game series with Endicott, Oliver went 4-for-9 at the plate with three runs, an RBI, a double, two triples, two walks and a stolen base. The freshman also drove in the game winning run with a double in a 3-0 win over Endicott.
Mary Berry
University of Maine-Farmington senior Mary Berry was chosen as NAC Softball Player of the Week. Berry hit .889 (8-for-9) in a 4-0 week for the Beavers, scoring seven of the team’s 45 runs while knocking in a pair.
