Residents voted on Monday at the annual town meeting to add $2,000 to the general government account to start a retirement plan for the town clerk.
The approximately 85 people who attended also voted to transfer $4,000 from undesignated surplus to the building reserve account, according to Town Manager Tressa Gudroe. She said this reserve account is to help maintain the town office and the sand and salt shed.
After discussion, residents voted 53-22 to increase the town’s property tax levy limit established by state law. The levy allows for Exeter to have a 5.6 percent increase, but the projected budget is expected to increase the levy by another 9 percent, said Gudroe.
Re-elected to office was Jeffrey Eastman as selectman and Steven Crane as SAD 46 director.
