CALAIS – The St. Croix Valley Amateur Radio Club sponsored a sky watch training program Saturday at the Methodist Homes recreation room, and some two dozen people attended.
Michael Fitzsimmons and Tony Sturey from the National Weather Service, Caribou, were there to teach the group how to interpret what they see in the sky, in order that they might then be able to identify potentially serious weather problems and to report them to the weather service.
The radio club was very pleased to be able to offer this opportunity and appreciated the interest and willingness of Fitzsimmons and Sturey in taking the time and effort to participate.
