BOLTON VALLEY, Vt. – Caribou resident Thomas Beckum finished 15th overall and 12th out of the U.S. finishers at the U.S. National Snowshoe Championships in the senior 10-kilometer race Saturday at the Bolton Valley Resort.

He completed the race in 47 minutes, 52 seconds. There were 154 finishers. The 29-year-old was third in his age group.

Beckum, a California native who works and coaches girls cross country at Caribou High School, made it into the national race with a 13th-place finish at the regional qualifier. The qualifier was the first-ever snowshoe race for Beckum, a longtime runner.
