ORONO – In a special guest appearance, Team Atlantic, a sanctioned and competitive figure skating team from southern Maine, will perform several production numbers in the annual Penobscot Figure Skaters Club exhibition, the 2006 Spring Skate, 5:30-7:30 p.m. Sunday, April 2, at Alfond Arena, University of Maine.
The exhibition also will feature solo freestyle figure skaters, pairs, small group numbers, a local synchronized team, and opening and closing production numbers. Music will include selections from contemporary songs, rock and roll, pop, instrumental, jazz, disco, country, blues, oldies and classical. A new lighting design with spotlights, and intricate costumes will enhance the performances of the skaters.
Show director is Kissy Crowell-Smith, a figure skating coach based in central Maine.
Local figure skaters who will perform in the exhibition are Jade Hardy Baumrind, Hilarie Blunt, Chelsea Chavaree, Dalaylun Demmons, Analies Ross-Dyjak, Pat Favolise, Charlotte Firestone, Pat Giorgio, Katie Goldberg, Camden Barry Grant, Castine Barry Grant, Sam Hallman, Brooke Hammond, Katie Harris, Emma Howard, Paula Hogan, Sara Kaplan, Katelyn Kribel, Dana Libhart, Abigail McCarthy, Hannah McCarthy, Bobbilyn McLean, Daija Misler, Tien Misler, Ariel Murphy, Emily Noyes, Jenna Packard, Kelsey Price, Amanda Serrao, Sarah Storgaard, Gail Sumner, Britta Sundquist, Marisa Tandy, Elise Templet, Lindsay Wells, Casey White, Nancy Whitney, Bridget Woodward and Mark Woodward.
There will be an intermission between acts when attendees may purchase snacks or a light supper at the concession stand run by the Penobscot Figure Skaters Club, with assistance from EVO Italian Brick Oven in Bangor and the Chocolate Grille in Old Town.
