BANGOR – To help adults live a brain-healthful lifestyle and potentially reduce their risk for Alzheimer’s disease, the Alzheimer’s Association, Maine Chapter will offer a community workshop titled “Maintain Your Brain: How

to Live a Brain Healthy Lifestyle” 6:30-8:30 p.m. Monday, April 3, at the Y on Second Street.

“Since the launch of the Alzheimer’s Association’s Maintain Your Brain campaign, the public has been asking us for clear guidance on what they can do to keep their brains healthy and reduce their risk of getting Alzheimer’s disease,” said Darlene Field, education specialist of the Maine Chapter.

The interactive workshop will feature nutritional and lifestyle advice, strategies to keep one’s memory sharp, interactive exercises and activities, and materials to take home.

The workshop will introduce attendees – particularly baby boomers – to scientifically rooted advice on brain health based on strong lifestyle choices, including:

. Staying sharp with challenging mental activities.

. Engaging in social interactions.

. Adopting the right diet.

. Remaining physically active.
