Sinclair girl found in Stillwater apartment

SINCLAIR – Jessica Page, the 15-year-old girl from Sinclair who had been missing since March 25 was found Wednesday night in an apartment in Stillwater.

Aroostook County Sheriff James Madore said the girl was being held on a Department of Human Services order while awaiting the arrival of her mother Kathy Page.

Kathy Page was reportedly on her way to central Maine Wednesday night and could not be reached.

Madore said police executed a search warrant at the apartment at about 8 p.m. Wednesday. It took police several hours to obtain the search warrant after locating the apartment where the girl was.

She was alone when she was located, Madore said.

Jessica Page went missing the morning of Saturday, March 25. She left home to go to work at the Long Lake Sporting Club in Sinclair but was not heard from after that.

Police said earlier this week that they believed the girl left the area of her own volition.

Kathy Page said Sunday that she had hardly slept during the ordeal. She feared foul play was involved.

Wednesday afternoon, Kathy Page said she was taking things one day at a time.

“It’s the only way to get through this,” the distraught mother said.

Friends of the family said Wednesday that Jessica had called her mother during the day. The report could not be verified Wednesday night.

Friends of the family had started organizing a fund to offer a reward for information on the young girl. In a matter of hours, the group had raised some $700.

Jessica Page had been listed on a missing and exploited children list since last Saturday. The teenager is a student at Wisdom High School at St. Agatha.
