Skeffington paces Southern Maine to victory

BRUNSWICK – Eddie Skeffington had two hits and two RBIs to lead the University of Southern Maine to a 6-4 college baseball victory over Bowdoin on Wednesday.

Chris Burleson added an RBI single for the Huskies of Gorham while Nick Vardaro also drove in a run.

Ricky Leclerc had an RBI single for the Polar Bears while Nick Lawler and Chris McCann added a single apiece.

Men’s lacrosse

Mt. Ida 13, Maine Maritime 9

At Castine, Brett Conley scored five goals and had three assists to lead Mount Ida College by Maine Maritime.

Matt Ramieor and Alex Champagne each added two goals for the Mustangs.

Luke McPartlin, Brandon Hamilton and John O’Malley each netted two goals for the Mariners. Nate Bolduc, William Hood and Garrett Lake each chipped in with one.

Bates 9, Colby 7

At Waterville, Matt Erisman scored four goals and had two assists to lead Bates College by Colby.

Women’s lacrosse

Colby 21, Bates 10

At Lewiston, Becky Julian and Kate Sheridan each scored four goals and had an assist to lead Colby College of Waterville by Bates.
