ROCKPORT – BDN sportswriter Ernie Clark and former high school coach and administrator Bill Casavant, now a broadcaster and sports programming director for the Channel X radio network in Caribou, were presented the Maine Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association annual media awards for coverage of high school athletics last week.

Clark has been covering high school and college sports for the BDN the last six years and the Waterville Sentinel the previous 11. He has also worked as a sports broadcaster for Bangor radio station WZON and Maine Public Television.

Casavant, who is still an active high school baseball official, does extensive broadcast coverage of Aroostook County teams during the regular and tournament season for the last 22 years. He currently broadcasts for Caribou’s WCXU, Madawaska’s WCXX and Fort Kent’s W276AY.
