4-run 7th sparks Witches

SKOWHEGAN – Jordan McLain scattered four hits, striking out seven and walking one, and helped herself with a double, a single and two RBIs as the Brewer Witches topped the Skowhegan Indians 6-3 in high school softball action Friday.

Christine Thoms paced Brewer with three singles and two RBIs, while Sarah Risser added a two-run single.

Mach Daigle doubled for Skowhegan, and Coco McGraw had a single and two RBIs.

Central 18, Piscataquis 1

At Corinth, Chantel Randall hit two home runs and a single to drive in five runs to lead Central to victory.

Sami Morin had two singles and a double to knock in a run for the Red Devils and Cristi Collins had four singles with an RBI.

Annie Agnew singled for Piscatquis of Guilford.

At Old Town, Mariah Gleaton smacked a three-triple in the third inning to help lift the Eagles of South China.

Kristen Porter hit two singles and drove in two runs for Erskine, while Erica Malley had a double and an RBI. Mirando Glidden struck out seven and didn’t have any walks.

Lauren Cates, Erin Reardon, Alison Gallant and Elizabeth Richard each hit a single for the Coyotes.

At Searsport, Lindsey Colbath had three singles, three RBIs, and scored three runs to lead Orono to victory.

Jessica Bathes singled twice and scored three times for Orono.

At Harrington, Alicia Tenney hit a triple and two singles to drive in three runs to push Narraguagus past Machias.

Haley Torrey, Chelsey Baker, and Jessica Tennan each had two singles and two RBIs for the Knights.

Stephanie Whitman and Christina Holmes doubled and singled to knock in two runs for the Bulldogs. Jasmine Miller singled twice with an RBI.

At Eastport, Darcey Gillespie tripled and singled to drive in five runs to lead Calais to the win.

Stephanie Perry hit a double and single to knock in five runs for the Blue Devils and Kayla Beaton had three singles and four RBIs.

Taunya Cook doubled and singled for Shead and Whitney Remington singled and scored.

At Rockland, sophomore Kristi Smith allowed just two hits and no walks while striking out nine to earn the shutout win for Rockland.

Dana Clark had a double, two RBIs, and two runs scored for Rockland. Lindsay Barnes doubled and scored a run and Jackie Connell had a single, an RBI, and a run.

Katie Lary and Kayla Gushee singled for Camden Hills of Rockport.

At Thorndike, Wade Spaulding hit a double and two singles to drive in four runs and lead Mount View to the win.

Tyler Miles tripled and singled with four RBIs for the Mustangs and John Wentworth hit two singles.

Andrew DeBethume led Maine Central Institute of Pittsfield with a triple and a single with two RBIs. Victor Quint and Curtis Lovely each doubled and singled with two RBIs.

At Old Town, Jarrett Lukas and Chris Brewer each drove in three runs and Adam Fournier teamed up with Dana Leland on a four-hitter as Old Town beat Erskine Academy of South China.

Lukas had a double and two singles and Brewer had a single and two sacrifice flies.

Brian Lonko and Jared Goody had two singles apiece and Cory Estes doubled.

Ryan Flagg tripled and singled for Erskine Academy and drove in the run.

At Lawrence, David Tozier hit a two-run double in the seventh and scored three times to help lead Nokomis of Newport to victory.

Rikki Hopkins had two suicide squeeze bunts to drive in two runs for the Warriors and Brendan Donaldson added two singles and scored three runs.

Bryan Manzo hit a three-run home run in the first inning for Lawrence.

Tony Jacobs singled with two RBIs and scored two runs for the Eagles. Willey, Ben Seel, and Josh Brooks each hit two singles.

Ian Lee doubled and scored a run for Hampden Academy. Shawn Smith and Jake Hitchings added a single each.
