Enman powers Monks past Huskies

GORHAM – Luke Enman’s RBI double in the top of the eighth sparked a three-run rally that lifted the Saint Joseph’s College Monks to a 7-4 college baseball win over the University of Southern Maine Friday.

Dustin Spiller gave Saint Joseph’s some insurance with a two-run single in the ninth.

Max Arsenault and Ryan Bourque sparked Southern Maine with an RBI single apiece.

Colby 16, Bates 3

At Lewiston, Andy Carr hit a home run, a double, and three singles to drive in five runs and score three times to lead Colby College of Brunswick past Bates College.

Craig Cooper had three singles and three RBIs for Colby and Brian Liberty doubled twice and drove in two runs. Tom Salemy hit three singles and scored three runs and Jon Vacca had two singles and two runs scored.

Casey McCormack doubled and scored a run for Bates and Ben Thayer doubled. Adam Worrall singled to drive in a run.

Thomas sweeps UM-Farmington

At Farmington, Jordan Stebbins hit a single and a home run to knock in two runs to lead Thomas College past the University of Maine at Farmington 6-5 in the first game. Thomas also took the second game 13-4.

In the first game, Matt Pavlis had two singles and two RBIs for Thomas. Jim Pierce had two singles to drive in a run and Jordan McDonald doubled and singled and scored two runs.

Devin Gill had two singles and an RBI for UM-Farmington and Aaron Wolfe singled with two RBIs.

In the second game, Mike Chamard had three singles and three RBIs for Thomas and Pavlis had two singles and two runs scored. Nick Schauwecker and Tim Costa each doubled and scored twice.

Peter McLaughlin hit three singles for UM-Farmington and Chip Burnham doubled and singled with two RBIs.
