An Old Town woman didn’t go quietly when she and others were told to leave Barnaby’s after the nightspot at 357 Odlin Road in Bangor had closed early Thursday morning.

Jeannie Chapman, 26, had been walking away at about 1:40 a.m., the last of those lingering at the bar and dance club at the Ramada Inn. Police said Chapman ran toward a Ramada Inn employee and pushed him, then turned her attention to police Sgt. Donald Gagner, pushing him too.

Gagner spun her around and took her to the ground, where she was handcuffed. She was charged with two counts of assault and one count of criminal trespass.

A Bangor woman told police that she took beauty products from a Bangor pharmacy because she needed them for a beauty school.

An employee at the Rite Aid Pharmacy on Broadway watched Ashley Steward, 22, enter the store’s restroom with a basket full of store products and come out about a half-hour later with the basket half-full, according to the police report. Empty packaging was found in a trash bag, Bangor police Officer Chris Desmond reported.

The total amount taken was valued at $223.94, including shoe insoles that Steward was wearing when authorities confronted her at her Bangor apartment later, Officer Dan Herrick reported. Steward told police she is attending beauty school and needed the items to look good.
