Bangor: man dies from accident injuries

An Enfield man who has been at Eastern Maine Medical Center since a snowmobile accident in January died last week. Brandon Reed, 19, died Thursday of injuries he suffered when he fell through the ice on Cold Stream Pond. Reed spent about 15 to 20 minutes in the freezing water on Jan. 2 before his father, a companion on another snowmobile, and a neighbor pulled him out of the water. Reed lost consciousness during the incident and, after being pulled from the pond, was treated at Penobscot Valley Hospital in Lincoln before being transferred to EMMC. Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. today at the Clay Funeral Home in Lincoln. Funeral services will be held at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Carolyn Metzler and the Rev. Alan Porter officiating. Interment will be in Mount Repose Cemetery in Burlington. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may donate to a trust fund to benefit Reed’s daughter, Rylee Ann Brandon Reed. Donations may be left at the funeral home.
