A Bangor man was arrested Wednesday evening after police chased him into a basement at 148 Union St.
David Patrick, 21, of Bangor was seen by Bangor’s Selective Enforcement Team in Pickering Square around 5:30 p.m. and the team attempted to arrest him on a warrant for unpaid fines for criminal mischief and criminal trespass.
He resisted and got free, running up State Street and onto Union Street where he hid in a basement at 148 Union St. according to police. He was chased on foot and by car and arrested in the basement. The arresting officer was James Dearing.
Patrick was taken to Penobscot County Jail where he was charged with failure to submit to arrest along with his previous warrant charges. He has been arrested 16 times in the past four years.

A Bangor man was arrested Tuesday for the 14th time in the past five months.
Around 4 p.m. Bangor police Officer James Dearing and Lt. Jeff Millard went to the Hammond and Ohio Variety at on Union St. to remove Stephen Gonzalez, 41, of Bangor because he was intoxicated and acting belligerently.
When police arrived, they gave Gonzalez criminal trespass and disorderly conduct warnings and then Lt. Millard removed him from the building. He was next seen walking up Hammond Street yelling at passing cars and using profanities.
Gonzalez was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.

A custom-made horse driving harness worth $2,500 was reported stolen on Wednesday, out of a soft-top car in Bangor.
Along with the harness, a kimberwich with a snaffle worth $28 and a Mullen half cheek bit worth $140, all in an L.L. Bean bag worth $60, were also stolen out of the car between 8 a.m. Tuesday and 7:45 a.m. Wednesday.
