Littlefield lifts Broncos

BANGOR – Lacey Littlefield fired a complete-game six hitter to lift the Hampden Academy Broncos to a 6-4 high school softball win over the Bangor Rams Wednesday.

Liz Kiser had an RBI double in Hampden’s three-run first inning.

Bangor’s Tawnya Godinez and Amy Hackett each contributed an RBI single in the seventh.

Kelly White singled twice for the Rams.

At Belfast, Liz Brown had two singles and two RBIs while Liz Anderson singled three times, doubled and knocked in a run as Belfast held off Rockland.

Heather Read had two singles and a triple and Helen Berry two singles and an RBI for the Lions.

Lindsay Barnes had a double and a single for the Tigers.

At Blue Hill, junior Katie Allen hit a three-run home run in the fourth inning to help propel the Golden Bucks to victory.

Terren Hall pitched a complete-game three-hitter in the five-inning contest for Bucksport.

At Washburn, Erica McDougall pitched a one-hitter with eight strikeouts to lead the Beavers past East Grand of Danforth.

Amber Palmer and Amy Reed each went 4-for-4 with a triple and three singles for the Beavers.

Tinesha Roy’s single was the only hit for the Vikings.

At Calais, Ashley Allen smacked a two-run homerun and added a single for three RBI to lead Calais past Houlton.

Steph Perry hit three doubles and drove in three runs, and Darcey Gillespie added a double, two singles and had three RBI for the winners.

Laney Harring, Sarah Harbison and Heather Haney each had a single for the Shiretowners.

At East Sullivan, the Tigers scored eight runs on five hits, two walks, one hit-by-pitch and one error, all in the fifth, to earn the win.

Whitney Page tripled and singled for Sumner, while Lona Sargent drove in two runs on four singles. Morgan Traxler doubled to lead off the fifth inning, and also added a triple.

Amy Collinsworth paced the Minutemen of Millinocket with a two-run home run in the sixth and added two singles. Deanna Michaud chipped in with three singles.

At East Machias, Lauren Finn drove in four runs on a single, double and a triple to lead Washington Academy over Jonesport-Beals.

Rebekah Cox added three singles, a double and an RBI, and Kayla Wood had a double, single and two RBI. Carilla Fritz added a single and a double with two RBI for the winners.

Jenny Durkee notched three singles and a double, driving two runs, and Rachel Church had two single and an RBI for the Royalettes.

Elizabeth Richard broke up the no-hitter with a single in the fifth for Old Town.

At Washburn, Micah Barnes pitched a three-hitter, struck out 14 batters, and walked three to lead the host Beavers past East Grand of Danforth.

Steve Pesut walked twice, but stole three bases and scored twice to pace the Washburn offense. Calvin Willette hit an RBI double. Ben Goupille also doubled.

Kyle Ricker doubled and Eric Preston added an RBI single for the Vikings.

At East Machias, Joey Hunter and Takao Kurosa each hit a two-run homerun to lead Washington Academy past Jonesport-Beals.

Hunter added a double and single with four RBI, and Kurosa notched a double and brought in three runs. Corey Colbeth chipped in with a double for the winners.

Harry Beal hit two singles and Shawn Milliken added a double for the Royals.

At Old Town, Danny Leland and Brian Lonko each hit solo homers and Jarrett Lukas had a three-run shot and a two-run shot as the Coyotes beat the Bulldogs of Fairfield.

Adam Fournier added two singles, a double and an RBI for Old Town.

John Flynn hit a two-run homer and Brian Manzo a three-run homer for Lawrence.

At Orono, the host Red Riots scored 11 runs in the third courtesy of eight hits, three errors and a hit batter to put the game out of reach.

Max Winter allowed five hits and eight walks, but struck out 15 batters to lead Orono. Travis Dunton had a triple, a double and an RBI. Jon Brothers added two singles and two RBIs. Lloyd Bryant singled twice.

Rick Venable had a double, single and three RBIs while Derek Lyford added two singles.

At Howland, Levi Nickerson and Jacob Speed each hit two singles to pace the Red Devils.

Central took advantage of 10 walks and scored 14 runs in the top of the sixth inning.

Ryan Ware had a triple and an RBI, and Corey Cyr added two singles for the Howlers.
