ORONO – The host Orono Red Riots scored 11 runs in the third courtesy of eight hits, three errors, and a hit batter to break open a tie game en route to a 13-7 high school baseball win over Penquis Valley of Milo on Wednesday.

Max Winter allowed five hits and eight walks but struck out 15 to lead Orono. Travis Dunton had a triple, double, and an RBI. Jon Brothers added two singles and two RBIs. Lloyd Bryant singled twice.

Rick Venable had a double, single, and three RBIs, and Derek Lyford added two singles for the Patriots.
