BANGOR – The Zonta Club of Bangor has announced recipients of Zonta Club of Bangor scholarships for the 2006-2007 academic year:

. Robin Lozier of Hermon, winner of a $1,000 Zonta Scholarship

. Jennie D’Amico of Brewer, winner of a $1,000 Zonta Scholarship.

. Lauren Young of Orono, winner of a $1,000 Zonta Scholarship.

. Marcienne Scofield of Glenburn, winner of a $1,000 Zonta Scholarship.

. Allison Wicks of Bangor, winner of the $1,000 Myrt Willey Scholarship for a major in business.

. Laura Thomas of Old Town, winner of the $1,000 Lillian Wall Scholarship for a major in the field of education.

Zonta scholarships are awarded annually to women planning to pursue a post-high school degree at a college or university in Maine. The Zonta Club of Bangor is a member of Zonta International, a worldwide service organization dedicated to the improvement of the status of women. The club meets at 6 p.m. the second Monday of each month at the Sea Dog Restaurant.
