Doughertys, Frost propel Pats to win over Mariners

DEER ISLE – Phil Dougherty hit a two-run homer, a two-run double, and a single, driving in five runs, to lead Bangor Christian past Deer Isle-Stonington 15-7 in high school baseball action Thursday.

Josh Frost and Micah Dougherty chipped in with two singles and two RBIs apiece for the Patriots.

Ethan Pinkham had a double, single, and RBI for the Mariners.

At Ellsworth, Cory Smith hit two singles, brought in three runs, and pitched a four-hitter, striking out five, to lead Ellsworth past Mattanawcook.

Pat Kelley hit a two-run single in the fifth, and Louden Jellison added a single and 2 RBI for the Eagles.

Dylan Hanscom had a single with two runs scored and two stolen bases, and Bryan Berry doubled for the Lynx of Lincoln.

At Sumner, Travis Bryant pitched a no-hitter, striking out 11 as Orono downed Sumner.

John Brothers hit a triple and a double with three RBIs for the Red Riots. Lloyd Bryant added two singles, a stolen base, and an RBI.

At Dexter, Justin Freeman hit two singles and drove in a run to lead Foxcroft Academy over Dexter.

Shayne Croan slapped an RBI single for the Ponies.

Aaron Woodman’s RBI single led the Tigers while Ryan Martin and Dan Beatham added two singles apiece.

At Hermon, Tim Kennerson struck out eight and Dustin Jalbert hit a two-run double to lead Hermon by John Bapst.

Travis Estes, Garrett Pratt and Zach Deabay each had RBI singles for the Hawks.

John Gagnon notched a single, double and triple for the Crusaders. Nick Hubbard added a single and an RBI and Alex Yates slapped two singles.

At Dyer Brook, Burton Brayal and Cam Cunningham each drove in four runs to lead Katahdin over Southern Aroostook.

Brayal smacked a three-run home run to go along with a single, and Cunningham added two singles. Keith Anderson and Josh Guiggey each hit two-run home runs for the Cougars of Stacyville.

Adam Anderson hit two singles and Evan Boutlier had two RBIs for the Warriors.

Jamie Ryan hit three singles with two RBIs, and Jordan Guy had three runs scored and hit two singles for the Hawks.

At Searsport, Cam Wadleigh hit a two-run double to top a seven run seventh inning to lead Bucksport past Searsport.

Wadleigh had two doubles and three RBIs for the Golden Bucks and Joe Robichaud added two doubles and two RBIs. Pat Dedman singled twice to drive in a run and Todd Freeman hit an RBI double in the seventh.

Josh Nickerson hit a solo home run in the seventh inning and later singled for two RBIs for Searsport. Sean Johnson and Tom Cameron both had two singles and two RBIs.

Chelsea Bates singled twice for the Katahdin Cougars.

Abby Perkins broke up Oakes’ no-hitter with a single in the seventh for the Crusaders of Bangor.

Michelle Chapman threw a one hitter, striking out seven, and hit a three-run home run and a single. Sabrina Cote added three singles, a triple and two RBI, and Tania Morales notched two singles, a triple and brought in four runs for the Tigers.

Foxcroft’s Lindsey Cote singled in the fourth inning.
