John, 14, has a great sense of humor

Even though John, 14, is in his early teens, he has many characteristics of a younger child.

John greatly enjoys playing with and organizing his many Yu-Gi-Oh cards. He began playing Yu-Gi-Oh without knowing anything about the fantasy dueling game and has taught himself to play.

John is shy at first, but his endearing smile and photogenic face quickly begin to introduce you to who he is inside. John loves shopping; his favorite stores are Wal-Mart and Toys-R-Us.

This teen has a wonderful sense of humor, and he has his own sense of style. John enjoys being outside where he likes to search for bugs and salamanders. One of his favorite possessions is his yellow tool box which he carries with him almost everywhere he goes.

John looks forward to meeting and growing with a “forever family” as he is very excited at the prospect of being adopted. He would love to have a mom and a dad or a same gender couple adopt him.

He would do best as the youngest or only child in a family. John needs a structured, but loving and open-minded family that will help guide him on his journey to adulthood.

John is one of the 155 children currently in Maine Department of Health and Human Services care who is seeking an adoptive family. Based in Gardiner, A Family for ME is a nonprofit program that works in collaboration with Maine DHHS to find foster and adoptive families for Maine children in care.
