The cream didn’t rise to the top and NBC made a wise decision to pull its attempt at creating a reality television cooking show before the season is over.
Apparently “Celebrity Cooking Showdown” left a bad taste in everyone’s mouths, not just mine, and the network decided to pull the show before airing the last two episodes.
The idea of the cooking disaster was to pair three celebrity chefs to train side by side with nine celebrities.
After one-on-one coaching and culinary class, the competition played out in real time, but proved to be a real flop.
The stars were in front of a live studio audience, racing against the clock to create their meals.
The final episodes were set to air last Thursday and Friday, but I’m not sure anyone noticed they were missing from NBC’s lineup.
For those of you who are disappointed that the show didn’t turn out to be the tasty treat NBC wanted, you can still find out the results of the last two episodes on the network’s Web site.
But NBC’s not alone in making bad reality decisions. While I loved the movie “Coyote Ugly,” CMT’s new series that is searching for the “ultimate” coyote bartender is just too much.
I did get hooked in to watching a few reruns – not because I was enjoying myself, but because I couldn’t believe the show was so horrible and I wanted to know if it got any better. It didn’t.
Starting out in New York, the show follows Coyote Ugly founder Liliana Lovell as she makes a nationwide search for the ultimate coyote.
She’s looking for a woman who can “sing, dance, flair and bartend better than any other,” according to CMT’s Web site.
The question is, will she find the dream girl she’s looking for? I’m not so sure.
The competition isn’t great so far, and I think the show might leave Lil needing to take out a help-wanted ad.
Fortunately, when Lil does make an appearance, she shoots from the hip and tells the women exactly what she thinks as they attempt to perform for her.
If you’re bored, check it out. Otherwise, just watch the movie again.
