Seger Jr. wins 2nd straight race Farmington’s Clark captures PASS opener at Oxford

HERMON – Rookie Bobby Seger Jr. of Frankfort earned the pole en route to his second straight victory in the Limited Sportsman division at Speedway 95 on Sunday.

Seger took home the win despite spinning out on lap 10 on a slick of oil left by the car of Fort Fairfield’s Tharren MacDougal, who lost his engine on lap 8.

Stephen Swanson of Trenton finished second in the race, Bruce Coulter of Winterport was third, Jason Witts of Bangor placed fourth and Rowland Robinson of Steuben took fifth.

Oxford Plains Speedway

At Oxford, Cassius Clark of Farmington beat Center Conway, N.H.’s Dale Shaw to capture the PASS New England Dodge Dealers 150 on Saturday night, the first Pro All Stars Series race of the season. Scott Chubbuck of Wiscasset was third, Oxford’s Tim Brackett finished fourth, and Johnny Clark of Farmingdale was fifth.

Wiscasset Raceway

At Wiscasset, defending Strictly Street champion Mike Moody of Bath beat Maurice Young of Chelsea by half a car length to win the 75-lap Strictly Street feature. Dave Brannon of Lisbon Falls finished third, Woolwich’s Bobby Mesimer was fourth, and Ian Bresnahan of Bath rounded out the top five.

At Winterport, Bob Cousins of Orono edged out Dale Hustus of Searsport to win the Opening Day Gamblers Race. Hermon’s Dan Emerson finished third.
