Ramsdell powers Raiders past Royals

JONESPORT – Jeff Ramsdell slammed a solo home run and added a pair of singles to lead the Washington Academy Raiders of East Machias to a 12-5 high school baseball victory over Jonesport-Beals Tuesday.

Nick Wood chipped in with two singles and drove in three runs while Joey Hunter had two singles and two RBIs for Washington Academy.

Ryan Geel and Scott Smorch had an RBI double apiece for Jonesport-Beals, and Joe Libby notched two singles and drove in a run.

At Jonesport, Kayla Wood recorded a six-inning no-hitter to lead the Washington Academy Raiders of East Machias to victory.

Ashley Tilton chipped in with two singles and drove in two runs for the winners. Meagan Look added a single, a double and an RBI.

Brittany Alley struck out 10 for the Royalettes.
