Annual concert will feature Holocaust songs

Bangor Community Chorus presents its annual Spring Concert at 7 p.m. Sunday, May 7 at First United Methodist Church, 703 Essex St. in Bangor.

The chorus is directed by Joshua Schmersal and accompanied by Naomi Hall.

Chorus member Carolyn McKinnon reports the program will include solos and duets and will include “selections ranging from inspirational and spiritual to folk, and music of the 1920s by Irving Berlin.”

One unusual feature of this concert is that “we will be singing two songs about the Holocaust,” McKinnon said, adding “everyone is welcome to attend and enjoy this special spring concert.”
