Stateside deployment

TUCSON, Ariz. – Senior Airman Nathan Richards currently is stationed at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, Ariz. This is his first stateside assignment since his enlistment and training in Texas.

He spent more than two years at Milden Hall Airbase in England. He also spent six months in Iraq at the onset of the war in that country. Afterward, he did a 15-month tour of duty at Lajes AFB in the Azores. He is the son of Robert and Martha Richards of Orrington.

Alaska assignment

PETALUMA, Calif. – Health Service Tech. 3rd Class Jerritt Green graduated from the United States Coast Guard Corpsman School on April 14.

Green will be stationed in Kodiak, Alaska, where his duties will include performing Medivac rescues, emergency medical treatment and clinical medicine. Green is a 2004 graduate of Bangor High School and the son of Marlene McDonald and Danny Green of Bangor.

Promotions

Maine Army National Guard Maj. Gen. John W. Libby, commissioner, Department of Defense, Veterans and Emergency Management and the Adjutant General of Maine, announced the following promotions:

. Kirk Donovan, warrant officer, 112th Air Ambulance, Bangor.

. Jonathan Newcomb, specialist, 3/172nd Infantry, Bangor.

. Alan Boillard, specialist, 3/172nd Infantry, Brewer.

. Christopher Fraser, private first class, 3/172nd Infantry, Brewer.

. Norman Gilmore, specialist, 3/172nd Infantry, Brewer.

. Steven Reiff, staff sergeant, 1/152nd Field Artillery, Presque Isle.

. Joseph Guerette, master sergeant, SECFOR II, Presque Isle.

. Joseph Towne, private, 169th Military Police, Bangor.

. Dustin Brooker, private, 3/172nd Infantry, Houlton.

. Ryan Lamoureau, staff sergeant, 1/152nd Field Artillery, Presque Isle.

Officer training

COLUMBUS, Ga. – Army 2nd Lt. Matthew Flagg graduated from the Infantry Officer Basic Course at Fort Benning. A 2001 graduate of Hampden Academy and 2005 graduate of the University of Maine, Flagg is the son of Michael and Barbara Flagg of Winterport.

Flight control training

WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Air Force Airman 1st Class Katie Hawks graduated from the A-10 Avionic Instrument and Flight Control Systems Apprentice Course at Sheppard Air Force Base. A 1999 graduate of Bangor High School, she is the daughter of James and Mary Hawks of Bangor.
