WASHBURN – Adam Anderson pitched a no-hitter while striking out 14 to lead the Southern Aroostook Warriors to a 14-0 high school baseball win over the Washburn Beavers Friday.

Anderson walked only two.

Anderson also hit a double and two singles to drive in four runs for the Warriors. Zach Stubbs hit a solo home run and a single and Clay Lawlor hit a three-run homer in the fifth inning.

At Madawaska , Justin Morin hit an RBI single in the seventh inning to break the 8-8 tie and give Madawaska its first win in its home opener.

Chad Bechard hit an RBI double to tie the game for Madawaska. Mark Sirois hit a three-run home run in the first inning and Dustin Butler doubled and singled.

Billy Scull hit an RBI double in the sixth inning for Fort Fairfield. Robert McNamee doubled and Austin Dufour hit an RBI single.

At Newport, Ian Lee tripled home Shawn Smith with the winning run in the top of the eighth inning to propel Hampden Academy to victory.

Lee finished with two triples and two RBIs while Smith had three singles and an RBI. Joel Neill added a triple and a single for the Broncos.

Isaac Osborne hit three singles for the Warriors while Corey Harding had two singles.

At Calais, Takao Kurose hit an RBI single in the fifth inning to lead Washington Academy of East Machias past Calais.

Victor Jacques had a double and a single for the Tigers.

At Searsport, Josh Nickerson, Sean Johnson and Casey Ashey combined to allow just one run on one hit and four walks while striking out 11 to lead Searsport to victory.

Johnson hit three singles and drove in three runs for Searsport. Tom Cameron had two singles and three RBIs as Ashey and Seth Gallant each added a two-run single.
