Preparations are being made for the reopening of Aunt Nellie’s Attic on Route 1A in Holden on Monday, May 15.
Sponsored by Hammond Street Senior Center in Bangor, Aunt Nellie’s Attic sells new and used items that have been donated to the thrift shop, reports Jill Gott of the senior center.
All of the proceeds from the store are used to fund operational and programming costs for the center, which offers area seniors the opportunity to enjoy gathering in a social atmosphere with an emphasis on learning and personal enrichment.
The thrift store is run by volunteers and is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday during the warmer months.
Contributions are being accepted for the store, and any donations would be greatly appreciated.
Call Gott at 262-5532 for more information.

Restoration work is planned inside the historic Bangor Opera House, home to Penobscot Theatre Company.
In a recent conversation with PTC director Scott Levy, he told me that he is having a very difficult time finding any photographs of the inside of the theater, and he wonders if any readers might have some in their personal photo collections.
Levy said planners would like the theater to look much as people remember it, but he needs photographs of the inside to accomplish that task.
If you can help, call Levy at PTC, 942-3333, or write or visit him at the theater, 131 Main St., Bangor 04401.
