ST. AGATHA – Kayla Michaud socked an RBI triple in the bottom of the sixth inning to lift the Wisdom Pioneers to a 6-5 high school softball victory over the Van Buren Crusaders on Monday.

Nicole St. Pierre added a double for the winners.

Lindsay Lajoie had two singles and two RBIs while Lacie LaPlante hit an RBI single for Van Buren.

At Dyer Brook, Jordan Sholler cranked a grand slam and Audrey Charette added a two-run homer to lead Southern Aroostook by the Limestone Community School/Maine School of Science and Mathematics.

Chelsea Collier earned the win for the Warriors as she allowed four hits while striking out five and walking two.

Leeann Kelly recorded an RBI single for the Eagles.

At Fort Fairfield, Caitlyn Esancy broke for home on a Ruthie Arato fielder’s choice in the eighth inning and beat the tag to give Fort Fairfield the win.

Esancy had a double and two singles and knocked in two runs for the Tigers. Maryl Shaw hit a two-run single in the seventh inning to force extra innings and Kerry Cunningham singled twice.

Sarah Nadeau hit a two-run double for Madawaska and Andrea Cyr added an RBI single.

At Hodgdon, Megan Korhonen tripled, singled and pitched a complete game with 12 strikeouts to lead Greater Houlton Christian past Hodgdon.

Chelsea Lord knocked three singles and plated two runs for the Eagles. Jen Burtchill and Katie Thompson had three singles apiece.

Sara Brewer notched two singles and drove in a pair for the Hawks and Dayna Tidd had two singles and a double.

At Rockland, Caitlin Hynes pitched a one-hitter and banged out five hits to spark the Tigers to victory.

Hynes struck out six and did not walk a batter. She hit a triple, a double and three singles.

Megan Ranquist singled three times for Rockland, while Jackie Connell provided a triple and a single and Lindsay Barnes two singles.

Jen Grenier singled for the Panthers.

At Danforth, the Tigerettes of Eastport took advantage of 13 East Grand errors en route to the win.

Whitney Remington hit five singles while Tricia Canoelmo and Shelly Melanson had four singles apiece for Shead.

Jodie Croan and Liz Gilman each had a double and a single for East Grand and Allie McKay tripled.

At Rockport, April Baker hit a triple and two singles and scored a run to help lead Medomak Valley of Waldoboro past Camden Hills.

Megan Bradstreet hit three singles for the Panthers. Melissa Ambridge tripled, singled, and scored two runs and Tessa Dodge added two singles and two runs scored.

Shelby Knowlton doubled and singled for the Windjammers and Kayla Heal singled twice.

Randy Thibeault hit a two-run home run for Wisdom and Justin Michaud added two singles, a double and an RBI.

At Fort Fairfield, Rob McNamee’s one-out double and Billy Scull’s RBI single tied the game in the bottom of the seventh before a Scull stolen base, a balk, and a Jay Kenneson RBI groundout delivered the game-winning run for the Tigers.

McNamee had a double and two singles while Scull finished with two singles.

Ethan Welch had a double and a single for the Madawaska Owls. Matt Beaulieu added a triple.

At Lincoln, Nick Swanson fired a six-hit shutout and helped his own cause with a home run and two singles as the Trojans earned their first victory of the season.

Swanson struck out eight, walked one and hit a batter. He smacked a solo homer in the first, giving Mount Desert Island the only run it would need. Jake Willis singled twice and knocked in the other run.

Aaron Flannery rapped two doubles for Mattanawcook Academy behind Drew Welch, who scattered seven hits.
