HARRINGTON – Principal Peter Doak of Narraguagus High School in Harrington has announced the honor parts for the Class of 2006. Graduation exercises will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 9, in the Charles F. Lawrence Gymnasium.

Sarah Kennedy, daughter of David and Margaret Kennedy of Addison, has been named valedictorian. She plans to attend Cornell in the fall to study veterinary medicine.

She is president of the National Honor Society and a member of the math league, school band and drama club. She received the DAR Good Citizen award, Golden Apple Award and numerous individual class awards. She was a member of the Society of Women Engineers, a Girls State representative, a Girls Nation senator, a Seven Sisters Book Award recipient, a Principals’ Award recipient. She was a member of the Narraguagus soccer and track and field teams.

Alicia Fickett, daughter of Alvah and Mary Fickett of Cherryfield, has been named salutatorian. She plans to attend Husson College to study nursing.

She is the vice president for the Class of 2006, a member of the math league, French Club, Varsity Club and Outdoor Club as well as a volunteer for the annual Special Families Weekend in Castine. During her high school years she participated in the Walk for Life, Walk for Sight and Autism Awareness Walk. She was a member of the volleyball and softball teams.
