HERMON – The Bay League will conduct a free open tryout at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 21, at Hermon High School.

The Bay League is a baseball league for players 17 and older that includes eight teams based this year in Hermon, Husson College in Bangor, Searsport, Unity and the Dover-Foxcroft area.

The teams are divided into two four-team divisions, with regular-season play running from mid-June through early August.

Each team plays 17 regular-season games, leading to a double-elimination playoff format that is culminated with a best-of-three championship series.

Also planned this year is a Bay League all-star game scheduled for July 23 at Husson College.

Players interested in attending the tryout should bring their glove and cleats and wear proper baseball attire. For more information, contact Bay League commissioner Mark Farnham at 356-1317.
