UNITY – A former staff writer for The New Yorker magazine will deliver the address at Unity College’s commencement this weekend. Author Bill McKibben will speak during commencement exercises beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 13, in the gymnasium at the Waldo County campus.

UNITY – A former staff writer for The New Yorker magazine will deliver the address at Unity College’s commencement this weekend.

Author Bill McKibben will speak during commencement exercises beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 13, in the gymnasium at the Waldo County campus.

Honorary citations will recognize David Purdy, Unity College professor emeritus, and Jim Page, president and CEO of Old Town-based James W. Sewall Co.

There are no tickets or reservations for the event. It is free and open to the general public on a first-come, first-served basis. Reserved seating is for graduates and speakers. A congratulatory reception will be held after commencement exercises on the lawn of Quimby Library adjacent to the Unity College gym.
